Eye For You. (Yan Bao Jian Cao) Giant Steps, London, England. A re-contextualisation of a 2017 interactive performance conducted at Vancouver’s Western Front artist-run centre with Yu Su.
2018
January, Winter Music Residency. Banff Centre for the Arts. Banff, AB.
Production of material for 2019 album Polysensuality, using hydrophones, re-amping techniques centered around interior of a grand piano, clarinet, and field recording. Material composed at the residency was performed at Deep Blue in Vancouver in January 2018.
Chateau à Vendre Residency. Castello di Montestrutto, Settimo Vitone, Italy (commission for Marie-Helene Tessier). Sound walk from the Swiss canton of Orsières to Montestrutto over the Alps in a week as part of Marie-Helene Tessier’s Chateau à Vendre residency. Sounds collected from tributary streams, glacial creeks and canals flowing into the Aosta Valley were combined and reconfigured to construct a durational exploration of the ways in which the sonic characteristics of water can be used to describe and elicit their ecologies. This culminated in a recital at the Castello di Montestrutto.
